A face-to-face talk with AI
As you approach a kiosk, you see an AI powered avatar that can give spot on wine recommendations for any occasion, in the most natural language possible. So if you looking for the best wine to pair with a pasta carbonara (pancetta or guanciale?) Paola is probably the most human way to converse with artificial intelligence and use your voice (a chat version is also available, of course), to get information and personalized rcommendations in an intuitive and natural way. While she talks to you, she can connect, for example, to a stock system, CRM, or trigger processes that greatly increase operational efficiency. The sky is the limit.
The challenge
As part of the AIE Innovation Lab's team at Capgemini Brazil, we were early throughout our journey with AI experimentations and demos, we got challenged to created an AI powered multiplatform Sommelière for one of the largest supermarket chains in Brazil, and the leader in wine sales. I contributed with the team on the creation, development and testing of Paola, mapping out the whole process and assuring full alignment on the end-to-end design decisions along with team members, client stakeholders and technicians. Through interviews, workshops, and user journeys we were able to understand user needs and desired features, to create a roadmap that where we would start with an MVP with a clear goal on what steps to take further with the technology.
The MPV
Before hitting the mobile app, we developed an MVP to me tested in stores. It consisted in a kiosk where Paola's model was trained through a secure ambient served as a perfect orquestrator between text-to-speech technology and the client data such as store availability.
